Full-time 2-1
Robertson and Mane leave it [very] late to get 3pts. Liverpool dominated and should of won easily but they never stopped. Man City at one point had closed the gap to 3pts after coming from a goal down at home too but those 2 late goals keep the 6pt gap ahead of the top of the table clash next Sunday at Anfield.
It looked to be one of…[Read more] -

And now VAR has chalked off an Equaliser – Firmino heads the ball in from Mane but ruled offside!

Bad start – An unmarked player at the back post scoring – VAR checked too but it was very tight and perhaps too many bodies to get a \’clear\’ offside decision. Villa Park has been a bogey stadium in the past…

Liverpool team: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Lallana, Henderson, Mane, Salah, Firmino
Subs: Adrian, Fabinho, Milner, Keita, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Origi
Aston Villa […]

A fairly predictable line-up with all the big names missing from the mid-week cup match returning. With Matip out, Lovren keeps his place. Lallana comes into Midfield, the big surprise although not a surprise Fabinho is ‘rested’ with 1 yellow card away from missing Man City match but he does make the bench. Personally, I think Ox deserved to start with Hendo/Gini dropping back to cover Fabinho’s position. Ox (on the bench) can help that transition to attack and goals from outside the box too.
No real surprises on the bench either with Milner, Keita (who also could of been selected ahead of Lallana), Gomez and Origi also sit on the bench – as they seem to be on a regular basis…
