GOAL!!!! Van Dyke (84mins)
What a way to start your LFC career. A goal on your debut at the Kop end in a derby – especially if it turns out to be the winner!!!
Ox with a corner and VVD gets his head on it to score…

7 attempts so far to their one. Still don’t know why we are not playing against 10men but only a 1-0 lead is never comfortable in a cup-tie.
I don’t think the Ref has got a grip on this game and letting it get a bit too aggressive and tempers are rising…
Hopefully we can get through the match unscathed – no injuries – and get through to the…[Read more]

Its been a physical game so far but that was surely a Red Card. You can\’t push players into the crowd like that – its no wonder Firmino reacted but that shouldn\’t be allowed at all and go unpunished!!!

Liverpool Team: Karius, Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Can, Lallana, Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Firmino, Mane.
Subs: Ward, Klavan, Lovren, Alexander-Arnold, Wijnaldum, Solanke, Ings.
Liverpool v Everton […]

Interesting selection – VVD straight in which seemed ‘unlikely’ with Klopps comments – both Lovren and Klaven on the bench too.
Not much attacking threat on the bench – I know Solanke and Ings are Strikers but haven’t been prolific or played in the first team much in the last year. I would hope they come on when the game is comfortable rather than when chasing the match…

A vital 3pts!! Looks like we were going to throw away yet another 2pts but Lovren and Klaven (with VVD arriving…) combine to get the winner in Injury time. Not enough to take third on GD but does increase our gap over 5th to 6pts (although 5th/6th do have games in hand) but we can’t be lower than 4th. If Everton beat utd by 2 or more, we could…[Read more]

GOAL!!!! Mane (61mins)
The game needed a moment of quality to break the deadlock, and Mane\’s provides it. He controls well from a cross on the right and then turns and smashes a shot from the edge of the box into the top corner.

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS
Team to play Burnley: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Klavan, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Can, Wijnaldum, Mane, Solanke, Lallana
Subs: Karius, Milner, Firmino, Robertson, Ings, Matip, Woodburn

Interesting line up… I know we only played 48hrs ago and have the FA Cup derby on Friday, but away at Burnley, I still expected more.
What is ‘worrying’ is that Coutinho isn’t even on the bench with ‘rumours of a departure to Barca’, this is only looking bad. It overshadows Lallana’s first start with Ings and Woodburn on the bench.-
Klopp has stated in his pre-match interview that Mo and Phil are out ‘injured’ – that’s why Coutinho isn’t included in the line-up.

Could be a difficult formation to predict. Are we going with a back 3 with TAA more of a midfield alongside Can, Gini, Ox, Lallana with Mane and Solanke as a front 2 (Mane in behind)? A back 4 with Gomez at LB, Can and Gini as a deeper lying Midfield with Ox, Lallana and Mane as more attacking Midfield and Solanke up front?
It could be a 3-5-2,…[Read more]

Some ‘press’ are reporting that Salah could be out for two weeks following a knee injury he picked up in the game against LCFC.
Sky however are saying he is a ‘doubt’ and Migs will return. VVD won’t be involved due to the timing of his registration and this match, Moreno ‘could’ be back for the FA Cup on Friday.
Could be a tough game…[Read more] -

With January 1st comes the opening of the transfer window. Yet again, Coutinho is linked with an exit to Barca (for £130m) despite being cup tied for CL. If he goes now, he would also lose any opportunity for a CL medal.
Assuming he does, Do you think LFC should look to replace him in January? If so, who do you think ‘could’ appease the fans?…[Read more] -

I would rather have City or Bayerns results – only dropped 5pts (1 loss and 1 draw – compared to our 5 draws – 10pts dropped) but can’t complain out our goals for. I bet out goals against column is higher than all of these too…
