A POOR first half – 2-0 down and LFC are NOT playing well as a team – they have been slow, lacking aggression and strolling around. In possession, they are flat footed and not accurate with their passing at all – giving the ball away far too easily or unable to hold on to it. Sturridge has been poor – missed a sitter early on and since then has either been too greedy, losing the ball or inaccurate with passes. Its not helped by players being flat footed so passes for players to move on to look much worse because they are static. Its as if they expected Red Star to be a Sunday league team or this is a friendly but what they got was a team looking to win, on the front foot and quick to harass, tackle, get the ball back and move it faster too…
I wouldn’t be surprised if Firmino and Fabinho come on for Sturridge and Lallana. Lallana hasn’t been ‘bad’ as such but there is no aggression in midfield and far too open too. Lallana has been rash and not really linking well with the rest of the team so far either – still not getting his head up and moving the ball quickly….
Second half has to get better or we could be on for a big loss here…
