LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS
Team to play Porto: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Milner, Fabinho, Keita, Henderson, Mane, Firmino, Salah.
Subs: Mignolet, Wijnaldum, Gomez, Sturridge, Shaqiri, Matip, Origi.
For this big night on the big stage, Klopp has made a few changes from the team that beat the Saints. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the changes in the back line with Matip dropping to the bench as Lovren returns and Milner looks to be starting at LB. I wasn’t aware Robertson was injured but he and Moreno too aren’t in the squad. We are used to seeing changes to midfield and tonight there is just 1 change. Keita and Fabinho start alongside Henderson who came off the bench to great effect on Friday whilst Gini drops to the bench. The front 3 is as expected.
The Bench is interesting as Gomez is included in the match day squad for the first time in months following his injury. Sturridge too makes the squad alongside the ever present ‘bench warmer’ Shaqiri (as he has been for numerous successive games) and Origi too.
