Goal-less at half time! Despite having over 60% possession – nearly double what the visitors could manage the number of chances, shots and even on target efforts are just about the same for both clubs. Only 1 on target each!

Its a must win game – if we want to put pressure on City who still have to face a depleted Spurs and an away match to their local rivals who seem to be stuttering a bit themselves right now. There is NO guarantee that these matches will see ‘dropped’ points and a win here really will lay down the gauntlet and put pressure on City. A loss/draw will give them ‘breathing’ space and afford them some dropped points in their matches.
Its really not good enough so far – its almost as if Liverpool can’t cope with the pressure, with the fact they need to win and the pressure to create but also the pressure ‘not’ to lose the ball, play the safe pass. At times not even play the ball so get swamped by 3 or 4 players and lose possession that way. Its all well and good keeping the ball by playing sideways and/or backwards but if you can make those passes, then pass forwards with that accuracy. I want to see a bit more creativity – 4 chances with double the possession and only 1 on target (after just 5mins) is not good enough. Chelsea managed to have almost as many chances and 1 on target too with half as much time on the ball!
