Alisson has made some big stops in this match and Liverpool, after getting the ‘perfect’ start have continuously failed to get the ‘final’ ball right again. Corners, which we have had a few, have been terrible – VVD and Matip at the back post yet we are failing to get past the first man and then hit on the counter attack. Shaqiri has been very wasteful, giving the ball away with ‘weak’ and sloppy passing, taking on 1 too many.
Origi hasn’t done badly, held the ball up and of course got the opening goal. He isn’t Salah though.
At least two more goals needed and, if we can actually get the play in the final third right, 2 and even 3 look possible.
The Ref hasn’t been great though, particularly with fouls on LFC players in the final third. Looks like we need to play against him too…
