Liverpool almost blew the game after cruising to a 3-0 lead. Whether it was complacency or not, Liverpool’s defending and marking dropped off completely. After Half-time, they looked like they were going to score but defensive lapse let them get a 2nd and then a 3rd. That seemed to wake Liverpool up and they kicked up a gear which led to Liverpool getting a 4th through Salah. After that it seemed to be a bit of making sure they didn’t concede and maybe if the front players get a chance, get a 5th but wasn’t committing players forward as much – particularly the full backs.
Its not a game to look back on with fondness – although the first 30mins was sublime. Its a game that Liverpool need to look at and make sure they don’t make the same mistakes…
Next up, 3rd place Leicester City come to Anfield so they certainly need to be much better to keep their winning streak going before the break…
