That was much more difficult that it should have been having to come back from 2-1 down after getting an early lead from Gini’s headed opener. It wasn’t ‘close’ in terms of possession, chances created etc but its goals that count. West Ham had chances to extend their lead and even get an equaliser. Liverpool almost looked complacent at times and made it more difficult for themselves but at 2-1 down, it looked like Liverpool were laying siege on the hammers. After Mane’s winner though, they dropped and looked to hold on and hit them on the break if the chances came. That gave the Hammers space and chances to get into the LFC half.
3pts is what matters to us but Klopp won’t be happy with the spaces and goals conceded.
That was Liverpools 18th League Win in a row to equal the record set by City and maybe that record was playing on their minds. 25 attempts on goal but only 7 on target…
Next up is Watford away in the EPL on Saturday evening before playing Chelsea away in the FA Cup on Tuesday.
