Full time Lincoln 2 – 7 Liverpool

a brace a piece from Jones and Minamino as well as goals from Shaqiri, Grujic and Origi sealed victory away at Lincoln. Two sloppy goals conceded either side of the 6th goal by Grujic was the only negative of this 9 goal football match.
Van Dijk and Fabinho played each half and Jota came on for his debut. Liverpool were a little more casual in the 2nd half but after racing to a 4 goal lead and adding a 5th after 18s of the restart, its understandable. They looked like they could go up a gear and threaten at any time.
Considering we had two debuts, Rhys Williams and Tsimikas in the starting line-up as well as Jota coming on for his, the fact that the team only had 2 starters from the win at Chelsea – both playing just 45mins, and a lot of other young players and some that haven’t played competitively for a while, it was a good display…
Next up is Arsenal at Anfield on Monday night…
