After the international break and an incredibly poor performance last time out, Liverpool are back in action across Stanley park at their local rivals.
Adrian remains in goal with Alisson still out but Matip returns to partner Van Dijk in defence. Thiago and Mane return after missing out in the last match after testing positive to covid although Keita misses out as he tested positive himself.
Thiago starts with Fabinho and Henderson who returns after injury and the front 3 is the usual 3 with Mane’s return.
Gomez is dropped to the bench as is Jota (who grabbed a couple of great goals for Portugal on international duty) and Gini too. Milner, Minamino and Jones also round make the bench…
Liverpool need to bounce back after their last match and a win against their local rivals would go a long way to eradicating the disappointing performance from last time out. A number of players looked really off their game and maybe the international break, players returning etc will help raise their game – that’s if the occasion itself isn’t enough…
