Yet again an example of where we are failing. Its that lack of quality in the final 3rd. Not saying our players are ‘poor’ but we have so much control, so many chances yet miss the target. If we were 3-4 nil up at half time, that would be a ‘fair’ scoreline considering the amount of possession and ‘opportunities’ (if the final ball was ‘better’ or more accurate shooting.
Its all well and good blaming the defence but they must be getting frustrated and annoyed at the lack of converting these chances. It also gives the opposition confidence. Knowing that LFC aren’t going to score and weathered the storm.
One of these days, we will give a team a hiding but we cannot keep wasting all this domination and expect to have a successful season.
The only consolation is that its the silverware that if we had to go out of, then this would be it. Its the busiest at the start too so I would rather go out at the ‘first’ hurdle than in Jan in the Semi-Finals when we are ‘knackered’ from the busiest time and because of all the games, struggling in CL and EPL too.
