Bad start – An unmarked player at the back post scoring – VAR checked too but it was very tight and perhaps too many bodies to get a ‘clear’ offside decision. Villa Park has been a bogey stadium in the past…

Half-time.
An open game – too open. Liverpool took the lead through an own goal but then Arsenal scored 3 but Milners Penalty before half time closed the gap. Either side had a chance to score with Origi putting the ball over when it looked like the goal was certain the last opportunity before the whistle.

Liverpool have a lifeline just when Arsenal looked to be running away with the match. Elliott is brought down and Milner converts before half-time to close the gap to just 1 goal.
