After feeling robbed of 2pts, I had a look at our remaining fixture list. We have away matches at utd (March 10th) and Chelsea (May 5th) but the next ‘highest’ team we have left to play is Bournemouth (currently 9th). That means 10 of our remaining fixtures are against 9th placed teams or lower. 8 of those are currently in the bottom half of the table.
Of course that doesn’t mean we ‘will’ win those 10 (30pts) as we seem to drop points against these teams. Too many draws (9 so far and 6 at home) and the fact we have away games at utd and chelsea (our 3 losses are all away games) could decide our finishing position. Have to get 3pts at St Mary’s on Sunday and hope we have a good result against Porto to bring back to Anfield.
With any luck, Klopp will find a way to get the results against lower placed teams and see out the season on a positive….
