After a relatively short break having won the Champions League, Liverpool kick off the start of the season with Norwich headed to Anfield.
Liverpool haven’t invested much in the team despite some big name departures – Mignolet, Sturridge and Moreno – with only youth players and an experienced GK as back-up whilst the rest of the top 6 (even Chelsea – although that was a loan to buy deal) spent money to be more competitive this season. The pre-season matches were – overall – disappointing and we will see if some of the players who were on the fringe, returning from long term injuries or part of the youth team are ‘good enough’ to compete at the top of the hardest and most competitive league in the world.
I can’t say I am confident we can go 1 better despite a decent 2nd half performance against City and the investment others have put into their squads to close the gap but we will see.
Lets kick off the season with a win…
