Half Time and Liverpool lead 1-0 thanks to an own goal. However, the score could easily be far worse from a Liverpool perspective as defencively, they are playing as a team lacking confidence, communication and cohesion. Fabinho has played well, making several tackles, interceptions and also a heroic clearance off the line as Adrian was easily lobbed. Adrian too has been very nervy – even after some ‘luck’ as a shot from 2yds out was straight at him. At times, Ajax perhaps have tried to overplay a bit too which has eventually helped Liverpool get a block or nick the ball away.
However, its goals that count and Liverpool have looked good on the counter. The front 3 have been the bright spark in the first half.
