Confirmed: Liverpool team vs Brighton

Liverpool have confirmed their starting line-up for today’s Premier League meeting with Brighton at the Amex Stadium, with Arne Slot forced into two changes from the side that beat Galatasaray in midweek. Cody Gakpo comes in for the injured Mohamed Salah, while Giorgi Mamardashvili starts in goal after Alisson was ruled out.

The headline team news had been building before kick-off. Slot confirmed on Friday that Salah and Alisson would both miss the lunchtime trip to Brighton, and that Joe Gomez was not yet ready to start despite returning to the squad.

That leaves Liverpool with a front pairing of Gakpo and Hugo Ekitike, with Florian Wirtz and Dominik Szoboszlai operating in the advanced midfield roles behind them. Jeremie Frimpong keeps his place at right-back, while Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister anchor the midfield. This Is Anfield described the shape as a 4-2-2-2, and the confirmed XI matches that setup.

Liverpool team: Mamardashvili; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Gakpo, Ekitike

Subs: Woodman, Gomez, Robertson, Ramsay, Nyoni, Jones, Morrison, Ngumoha, Chiesa

Brighton vs Liverpool in the Premier League kicks off at the Amex Stadium at 12:30 GMT on Saturday 21st March 2026.
