After a long break, Liverpool return to action. Not long enough for numerous injured players to return and with Milner suspended, eyes were on who Klopp would select for RB. The initial team selection doesn’t make it obvious either with Klopp picking Hendo, Gini and Keita whilst Fabinho, Lovren and Camacho are on the bench. Is this a 3-4-3 or is Gini/Hendo starting at RB? At least VVD has recovered from illness to start. Shaqiri also starts.
Lallana, Origi and Sturridge offer attacking options from the bench. As mentioned, Lovren is back from injury too but looking at the team, you can see the squad depth is certainly being pushed to its limits.
Win tonight and Liverpool will open up a 7pt gap at the top with 14 games left to play – A big opportunity for LFC but still a long way to go regardless of the result….
