This is the squad that Liverpool can call upon in their bid to overturn a 3-0 deficit against the Favourites for the Trophy. They were also able to rest several key players having won their domestic title.
As I mentioned yesterday, several key players are missing – most notably Salah (LFC’s top scorer for the past 2 seasons) and Firmino (a key goalscorer and someone who works hard for the team defensively too) both would be automatic starters in a game when we need to score at least 3 just to get to extra time and/or Penalties.
That being said, its great to see a hot young prospect, someone who has missed the entire season with injury, a goalscorer make it into the squad for what seems to be Liverpool’s penultimate game of the season – its still possible to get 1 more game added on but the odds are stacked against that.
Liverpool also have to get over the fact that it looks like their hope of City dropping points and the ‘easier’ fixture this weekend meaning that the EPL will yet again elude us. A season where we lose only 1 game (so far) and yet still miss out on Silverware…
All I can say is that we can still have hope, still get behind Liverpool tonight and get the win that takes us through to the final…
