Well a good 3pts, started slow in the 2nd half but could have added more goals. In truth, it seemed more like we controlled the second half – keeping it solid and not giving the saints a sniff. Didn’t go out to increase the win, didn’t look like we were soaking up pressure either in the end…

Karius is going to prove how good he really is IMO.

I said when we signed him he had a lot of potential – even though many questioned why we went for him and not a bigger name. Its taken longer than I expected for him to settle – seemed to be trying too hard at times, letting the occasion and fans get to him a bit. Maybe not helped by the people in front of him not giving him confidence in their ability.

Half time. We are lucky to be going in at 2-0 as the play in between the two goals has been lethargic. Several times a cross from the left has found 2 saints players at the back post and able to have free headers. Its been very poor gor the past 10-15mins – Karius has made a few good saves but we are losing midfield, not going with runners and struggling a bit. Its similar to the 2nd half against spurs at the moment…

No Henderson as Van Dijk starts alongside Matip. Ox and Gini partner Can (suspended for Wednesdays match) in Midfield with the front 3 as expected.

After feeling robbed of 2pts, I had a look at our remaining fixture list. We have away matches at utd (March 10th) and Chelsea (May 5th) but the next ‘highest’ team we have left to play is Bournemouth (currently 9th). 2pts dropped… at least we didn’t lose and keep ahead of spurs. We let them dictate the second half and lost our legs as the half went on. Salah score a brilliant 2nd which looked to give us 3pts in injury time but he was at times a bit selfish – trying to beat everyone when a pass may have been better but I can’t deny he was looking fit. Come on Liverpool!!! I said at half-time we shouldn’t sit back and allow spurs to attack relentlessly at half time but that’s what we have done.
Ox has been very poor since he came on too – Hopefully that will wake us up and remember we can attack too.
