I wonder if the contract situation and thoughts of his future are impacting on his game? Its not like Klopp hasn’t given him opportunities.

I really think Can has been poor this half. Firmino hasn’t been on top form either but at least he has been in the right places and working hard.
If I was Klopp, I would be giving Can a kick up the backside and if he doesn’t respond in the first 15mins, bring on Gini, Milner or even the Ox – after all he ‘thinks’ he is a central midfielder.

No ‘big’ surprise. I did wonder if Salah may be rested and Coutinho moved forward with Gini keeping his place but hoped Klopp would go for it with both Mane and Salah on the wings. If Spartak have a ‘weakness’ its at their fullback areas so having pace on either side should terrorise their defence.

Well 3pts but that was tense!!! Should have been more. Coutinho was certainly the difference in the first half and the goal we ‘leaked’ should never have been given. Second half was a bit more messy but I think that the goal deep in injury time gave LCFC a boost in the 2nd half.
At least we have stopped the rot so to speak…

At ;east Mignolet saved it anyway!!! 5 out of 8 penalties saved!!!

No surprise in this selection at all. I had doubts over the CB pairing due to ‘injury’ but good to see both make it. Say what you want about Lovren but statistically our strongest two. I wondered if TTA may have started as I think he is ‘better’ than Gomez in that position – at least in an attacking and pace.
