Are we trying to give this away… Some desperate defending, great blocks and saves, headers off the line etc…
Yet again, running out of steam? dropping deep to see out the game?? If anything, this does show we don’t seem to have a team that could compete if we had to rely on fringe/youth players.

Milners goal (with a lot of help from the GK) separates the sides at half time. The youngsters have done quite well and its the ‘experienced’ players (apart from Milner) who have been quite average. With the youngsters on the Field and Elliott hitting the crossbar when it seemed easier to score, its Milner that opens Liverpool’s account. A driven shot straight at the keeper is fumbled and ends up in the back of the net just before Half time…

Lallana looks to be the holding midfielder as Keita and Ox look more advanced as it starts. Milner is the Left back so quite an experienced defensive line.

The H-T result is a bit flattering – making the most of two free kicks, VAR Offside ruling out a goal and a good save 1v1 by Adrian is the difference at half time.
