0-0 at Half time but we really should have scored at least 1 goal with the chances and positions we have been in. Rushing, acrobatic attempts etc has let Bayern off. Still 45mins of the first leg to get an advantage to take to Bayern – don’t want to end up taking penalties in Germany – although an away goal for us could be good.

Big night for the REDS…
TAA starts and Fabinho comes into replace the suspended VVD. Gini, Hendo and Kieta start in midfield too.
Shaqiri returns to the squad after his injury alongside Milner, Lallana, Origi, Sturridge & Moreno on the bench.

A great win today that takes us back to the top of the table. Goals from Mane, Gini and Salah settled the match and overall, the team played very well – back to what we expect…
Next up, Bayern Munich come to Anfield as the Champions League resumes in 10days before our match at Old Trafford….

I can’t say I am a ‘big’ fan of Gini but I do think he is often overlooked and under-rated for the work he does. He doesn’t score enough for me to be a ‘big’ fan and in some ways he is ‘similar’ to Hendo in that he does a lot of work, doesn’t score enough for a midfielder and only gets recognition when they are ‘missed’. Robertson pings a ball over the Bournemouth defence and Wijnaldum is the midfield runner. He pulls the ball out of the sky and from about 15 yards spots Boruc off his line. A corner is clearedbut Milner recycles the ball on the right, where Liverpool have looked a threat from. He swings a tasty ball into the middle and Mane bullets a header into the net from 10 yards.
He’s now scored in four consecutive Premier League games.

A massive game and the ‘big’ news is that Milner starts at RB with TAA on the bench. VVD is back alongside Matip as expected. In the middle, Hendo, Gini and Fabinho start with the usual 3 up front.
Keita, Lallana & Shaq are midfield options from the bench with Origi and Sturridge offering firepower if needed too.
