Liverpool have named a bold side for tonight’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield, with Arne Slot handing Alexander Isak his first start of 2026 and again leaving Mohamed Salah on the bench.
The headline decision is clear. Slot has gone for mobility, direct running and fresh energy in the front line, with Isak joining Hugo Ekitike in what looks set to be an aggressive attacking setup. It is a selection that suggests Liverpool are trying to force the tie early rather than manage it cautiously.
With Alisson still unavailable, Giorgi Mamardashvili keeps his place in goal. Curtis Jones was fit enough to train on the eve of the game, but only makes the bench, while Milos Kerkez, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch all return to the starting side.
Liverpool team: Mamardashvili; Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Isak, Ekitike
Subs: Woodman, Misciur, Gomez, Nallo, Robertson, Jones, Nyoni, Salah, Gakpo, Ngumoha, Chiesa
