Liverpool have named a strong starting XI to face Monaco at Anfield this afternoon, with Lewis Koumas handed another chance to impress in Andoni Iraola’s attack.
Alisson, Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo all make their first starts of pre-season as Liverpool step up their preparations with just two warm-up matches remaining before the new campaign.
The Reds kick off against Monaco at 2.30pm BST in Iraola’s first match in charge at Anfield. It is also the first meeting between the clubs since Liverpool’s 2004/05 Champions League-winning season.
