Half time – Salah has been Man of the Match so far and Firmino has been great too – Mane has been trying too hard but the pace up front is tearing Roma apart at the moment. Must remember though that Roma came back from 4-1 down against Barca in the previous round and we should be 5+ goals up right now! A 5-0 score wouldn’t flatter Liverpool at…[Read more]

What the hell has Mane got on his feet?? Its certainly not his shooting boots – 1 on 1 and he lifts the ball over the bar, 49secs later he misses wildly from around the penalty spot.
Salah then draws a good save..
3 great chances in a couple of minutes – hope we don\’t rue those misses…

Very little surprise with the team selection. I thought Gomez would have been on the bench instead of Klaven (who was poor on Saturday despite having very little to do) and Gomez can play at CB if needed – maybe too soon after injury and playing on Sat – otherwise as expected…

GOAL!!!!! Salah (72mins)
Salah equals Suarez record with his 31st EPL goal of season with a dinked finish very reminiscent of the goal he scored against Citeh in the CL.
Great goal and came at the right time. LFC have played well within themselves and that has bought us a bit more breathing room…

GOAL!!!!!! Ings (4mins)
Ings doing what he does best – being alert in the box after a well worked corner… The delight on his face was priceless…

Van Dijk and Karius are the only players in the back 5 who started the last match with Lovren TAA and Robertson on the bench. Ox and Firmino on the bench too as Ings comes in to the starting line-up and Milner starts too. Solanke and Migs round off the bench.
This is Moreno’s first start since the 3-0 win against Stoke in Nov 2017.

Biggest disappointment so far is an injury to Ox – Gini had a good chance to score or assist after coming on and in truth, since he came on, we have had more control over the midfield but some of that could be down to the team stepping it up as we started to dominate.
