What a howler by Adrian despite his heroics in midweek! We are really going to miss Allison. Relieved to get 3 points on the road after our exertions in Istanbul. It was well and truly squeaky bum time at the end there!

    • Fortunately, Ings missed a sitter late on but Goal Difference may be important if we can keep up the challenge like we did last year. City have started well and the likes of Arsenal, Man Utd and Spurs have invested in bringing quality to their sides.
I know we have quality in our team too but I do think we should have invested too. Brewster may not be quite ready for stepping in as a replacement for Sturridge for example and an injury to Mane or Salah, even Firmino really affects our squad strength. We know how important Alisson and VVD are at the back – as well as TAA and Robertson as our main creators of chances. The most exciting prospect though is Harvey Elliot who put most of our Midfield to shame in pre-season with his creativity and drive – still young but I am a bit disappointed that we weren’t able to strengthen in some key areas.
We earned a lot of money with the Champions League Win and the 2nd place League finish. We sold Migs and lost Moreno and Sturridge off the wage bill. Lallana hasn’t impressed in the last few season’s after that injury layoff and should of been sold. Shaq doesn’t seem to be an option and seems to be a bench sitter – even though he has been decent (better than Lallana) when given a chance so I really don’t know what’s going on. Obviously I don’t get to hear what’s going on behind the scenes but I just hope we don’t rue the missed opportunities of the summer Window. We hear that the winter window isn’t Klopp’s (or LFC’s) shopping window – at least not if they got the player in the summer (VVD for example) and Klopp like players in for pre-season and can ease them in by Christmas for the hard finish to the season. In other words, LFC buy/loan for desperation (loan cover for injured) or in preparation to start on day 1 pre-season rather than miss ‘weaks’ because they only signed on in late July.
Anyway, lets not be too pessimistic after just 2 games, 2 wins and of course the mid week trophy win that moved us back above Utd as the most successful team in England.
