After the weekends results, Liverpool are 22pts ahead with a maximum of 39 available. They need just 4pts to Qualify for the Champions League as Spurs in 5th can only get a maximum of 76pts. I know that Champions League qualification is inevitable but LFC need just 4pts. When talking about winning the League, Klopp has said they haven’t yet guaranteed Champions League football but that is nearly done. Chelsea in 4th can reach a maximum of 80pts so Liverpool need 8pts to guarantee finishing at least 3rd. Leicester can reach a max 88pts so 16pts needed to finish at least 2nd and City can reach a max of 90pts, so LFC need 18pts to win the league from their remaining 13 games.

If Liverpool win their next 6 games, they would be Champions by the end of March – sooner if other results help. They ‘could’ be Champions before travelling to City. The City match though would be the 49th game if Liverpool were to go unbeaten to match Arsenals record.

If City drop 3pts in the next couple of games and LCFC drop 1pt too, Liverpool could win the League at Everton but right now, the earliest it could be won is at home to Crystal Palace on 21st March.

Liverpool have 6 Home games left and 7 Away in the league. They also have 2 legs of the Champions League (also an FA Cup replay and possible Rnd 5 match) between now and the Crystal Palace match.

Whilst the results are looking good for our first League win for 30yrs, there is still a LOT of football to play. Lets not get complacent and focus on the next match only – not the Palace game or the City game. Lets not lose any of the remaining 13 fixtures and set new records. Even if we win the league at Palace (for example), I don’t want to see LFC drop off but remain focus on winning ‘every’ game…
