So the same starting XI as the opening weekend fixture. The bench has a few changes with Matip returning after injury and replaces Fabinho (so no debut yet) with Migs and Moreno replacing Clyne and Karius from last weeks bench.

4-0 – Top of league (on GD LOL).
Liverpool dominated from start to finish and could have scored more. Kieta looked like he had been at Liverpool for years. Alisson had very little to do, but also had a bit of luck too. Half Time – 2-0
In fairness, its no less than LFC deserved as they had been quite dominant in possession without really creating too many chances. A couple of saves – 1 point blank from Salah and 1 a free kick from TAA but most of the attacks broke down through a sloppy pass, offside or defending. Its the first game so expect a bit more accuracy…[Read more]

Mane opens up his account right on HT. Another cross from Robertson looked to be too deep and drifting out of play but a great stretch by Milner pulls it back into the box for Mane to tap in after the WH defenders all stopped thinking the ball was going out.

Normal service resumes and its no surprise that Salah opens up his account and LFC’s for the season. Kieta, who has slotted in well, plays a lovely weighted pass to Robertson who slides it across the box for Salah to tap in – 1-0

We definitely need more depth – we have been saying that all season – yet we still finished in the top 4 and reached the CL final. You can’t blame Klopp for a ‘work in progress’ and ‘lack of trophies’ when teams like City, RM etc have massive squads and budgets too.
