Thank you FSG! At last you have got your cheque book out and signed some defensive quality. It has taken you more than 6 years to wake up and smell the coffee but at last you have done what fans have been long asking for – quality at the back! I really hope VVD hits the ground running from next week and won’t feel the pressure of such a large fee. It looks like we got him under the noses of Man City, which makes this signing especially pleasing!

It was against the bottom side in the league but 3 points is 3 points and keeps us well in the race for fourth place! Firmino and Coutinho are phenomenal these days!

It certainly turned into a cake walk BUT it wasn’t as convincing as it should have been. The chances we wasted in the first half, the complacency and at times selfish play in the final third, could have haunted us.
