7 changes, Sturridge and Coutinho start
Philippe Coutinho makes his first start of the season and there’s a place for Daniel Sturridge too.At the back Mignolet returns with Alexander-Arnold, Klavan and […]

-
I think this is a good lineup. Henderson and Gini needed benching. Good to see Andy Robertson being given another chance and I hope he will supply plenty of crosses for Sturridge and Firmino
-
I agree, Henderson has not been at his best so far this season. Sturridge needs games if he’s going to get into a scoring rhythm and hopefully today is the day!
-
Klopp had to make changes – all these games are taking its toll on the players and you can see how they are tiring in the last stages of matches. We have games coming every weekend and mid-week too so we had to make changes to keep players fit, give players a rest and keep those who may not be playing match ready too…

Karius starts, Coutinho on the bench
There are three changes to the Liverpool lineup for tonight’s match with Sevilla, as Champions League football returns to Anfield.Liverpool Team: Karius, Gomez, Lov […]

-
Pretty much as expected. Maybe TAA and Mignolet would be considered the ‘starting’ team that Klopp has picked most so far. Surprised TAA wasn’t on the Bench but I think Klopp picked Gomez more for defensive quality.
Good to see Coutinho on the bench too. Understandably left out on Sat and only played 30-40mins in the last month or two. Only trained a few times since the ‘start’ of the season.
Come on you REDS!!! YNWA -
Come on LFC make this count at #Anfield.

Mignolet and Klavan start, Oxlade-Chamberlain on the bench
Liverpool Team: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Klavan, Moreno, Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum, Salah, Mane, Firmino.Subs: Karius, Lovren, Gomez, […]

-
I am surprised by Klaven starting – maybe to keep Lovren for Sevilla. Ox on the bench is no different from where I think he will spend most of the ‘big/important’ matches.
Not a bad bench… -
Interesting lineup. Wonder what Klopp is up to with Mignolet? Is he our number one or not? I think we have enough to get a good result’

King of the Kop wrote a new post, Liverpool Agree Deal for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain 8 years, 5 months ago
Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Arsenal and England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The deal, rumoured to be in the region of £40 million, follows talks with Arsenal earlier today. The England […]

Well it is certainly an exciting end to the transfer window for LFC! Personally, I’ve not not been that impressed with The Ox during his time at Arsenal. He is a player who has not fulfilled his talents and potential. Perhaps Juergen Klopp is the man to take him to the next level? I really hope so. It will be interesting to see what role he has for him in our midfield. Is he going to be the winger he has been for Arsenal and England so far, or will he slot into central midfield?
-
I think it’s going to be fascinating to see how Klopp intends to use him. Central midfield is his preferred position, and it’s where he played at Southampton but Wenger has tended to use him as a winger. The guy as all the attributes to be a success but his career so far as flattered to deceive.
-
He’s only been signed as cover in case Can goes. Or just a general squad player. Can’t believe we have spent £40 million on him but welcome to LFC ox man!
-
Certainly hope we keep Can. He’s been great recently. He has the potential to be the perfect all round midfielder. I would be minded to give him the captaincy.

King of the Kop wrote a new post, Naby Keita Joins Liverpool In Club Record Deal 8 years, 5 months ago
Liverpool have agreed a club record transfer fee for Naby Keita, who will move to Anfield on 1 July 2018.
The summer-long pursuit finally came to a conclusion earlier today when the RB Leipzig midfielder […]
-
Great signing! Keita is a quality young midfielder, who has all facets to his game, but my excitement is tempered by the fact we need to wait 12 months before we see him in a red shirt! A season is a long time in football and anything can happen in the coming months. I do hope we can add some more quality to the squad for this coming season by the time the transfer window closes because I feel we are still short in defence.
-
100% agree, we need VVD a.s.a.p
-
-
In terms of choreography I guess the timing of Keita joining us does pave the way for Coutinho’s departure to Barcelona in 12 months time. Personally, I would place a central defender as more of a priority at the moment!
-
Again 100% agree Col’s. VVD is a “must” for Jürgen Klopp & LFC.

Extraordinarily harsh on Mignolet in my opinion. He hasn’t done a lot wrong recently and what I saw of Karius in pre season wasn’t convincing. He will be facing a lot of pressure this afternoon. Let’s hope he doesn’t screw up!
-
Mignolet “rested” says Klopp, not very convincing! A goalkeeper needing a rest – never heard of the before!

I’m absolutely gutted “again” at least LFC kept the score down. I can’t wait for Naby Keita to join us, him in MF WOWWWWWW Sadio Mane missing a huge blow for us. It’s better to draw than lose, but it’s totally unacceptable to be 1-1 at #Anfield vs Burnley!!!. I trust Jürgen Klopp implicately to get LFC all guns blazing. Our players not used to…[Read more]
