Thank you FSG! At last you have got your cheque book out and signed some defensive quality. It has taken you more than 6 years to wake up and smell the coffee but at last you have done what fans have been long asking for – quality at the back! I really hope VVD hits the ground running from next week and won’t feel the pressure of such a large fee. It looks like we got him under the noses of Man City, which makes this signing especially pleasing!

Very quiet on here today, ?a run of the mill game for LFC it was too easy in many ways. My hero Firmino again scoring a brace. Proud and made up for TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD fine half volley in front of the KOP.

It was against the bottom side in the league but 3 points is 3 points and keeps us well in the race for fourth place! Firmino and Coutinho are phenomenal these days!

The chances we wasted in the first half, the complacency and at times selfish play in the final third, could have haunted us.
