Shocked at Carra spitting. Whatever possessed him at that moment. Suggest some time out from Sky, a few months, and some counselling as he clearly has some issues. Perhaps return to screens at the start of next season. Footballers get banned for spitting on the pitch, Carra should get the same.

What a win!!! Mane hat-trick with Salah and Firmino both getting a goal each too sees LFC become the leading goalscorers in the CL this season and more importantly, a win away from home in the first leg.

A fairly predictable line up – especially with Can suspended. Lovren starting alongside VVD with Matip on the bench – probably the biggest surprise.
Gomez is back on the bench following injury alongside Matip and Moreno as Klopp names 3 defenders. Ox and Lallana offering midfield options and Ings the sole attacker named.

Well a good 3pts, started slow in the 2nd half but could have added more goals. In truth, it seemed more like we controlled the second half – keeping it solid and not giving the saints a sniff. Didn’t go out to increase the win, didn’t look like we were soaking up pressure either in the end…

Karius is going to prove how good he really is IMO.

I said when we signed him he had a lot of potential – even though many questioned why we went for him and not a bigger name. Its taken longer than I expected for him to settle – seemed to be trying too hard at times, letting the occasion and fans get to him a bit. Maybe not helped by the people in front of him not giving him confidence in their ability.

Half time. We are lucky to be going in at 2-0 as the play in between the two goals has been lethargic. Several times a cross from the left has found 2 saints players at the back post and able to have free headers. Its been very poor gor the past 10-15mins – Karius has made a few good saves but we are losing midfield, not going with runners and struggling a bit. Its similar to the 2nd half against spurs at the moment…

2pts dropped… at least we didn’t lose and keep ahead of spurs. We let them dictate the second half and lost our legs as the half went on. Salah score a brilliant 2nd which looked to give us 3pts in injury time but he was at times a bit selfish – trying to beat everyone when a pass may have been better but I can’t deny he was looking fit.
